The WWSL
I was fortunate to be a volunteer at the Shops while I was stationed at Fort Bragg North Carolina. Seaboard Air Line VO 1000 No 1415 was one of the locomotives I had the opportunity to work on during my tour of duty with the Shops.
My plan is to kitbatch this locomotive and show it on a display shelf.
Prototype Information
The VO-1000 is a diesel-electric switcher locomotive built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works between January 1939 and December 1946. These units were powered by a naturally aspirated eight-cylinder diesel engine rated at 1,000 horsepower (746 kW), and rode on a pair of two-axle AAR Type-A switcher trucks in a B-B wheel arrangement.Seaboard Air Line #1415

This Baldwin VO1000 was built in February 1944 as Western Maryland #132, one of 5 on WM's roster. It was donated to the the NC Transportation Museum.
The Western Maryland Railway did not have a historical NC connection. The Seaboard Air Line Railroad did. They had 7 VO1000 on their roster. The museum decided to paint it as Seaboard Air Line #1415.
Modeling Information
Model Manufacturer: The best plastic model to begin these would be the Atlas 51049 VO-1000.
Project Process TBA.
