The OPLC has two car movement strategies.
- Pattern movement. The OPLC has local logging traffic between the OPLC sawmill log pond and OPLC logging reload sites.
- Industrial Switching. OPLC has two zones that require switching operations between the OPLC/WWSL interchange.
Pattern switching
The OPLC has 2 local logging trains between the OPLC sawmill log pond
and OPLC logging reload sites. Inbound loads are placed on the OPLC
arrival/departure tracks located at Headquarters (HQ). Those cars are
moved to the
OPLC log pond, unloaded and placed on the track.
When the switching as been done according to this pattern, it will be
sufficient just to mark 'done' on the front of the switch list.
If, however, cars are put into a different track, then this track must
be shown against each car so handled.
Industrial work procedures
Cars received in interchange must be worked in accordance with AAR car
movement instructions. A switch list will be created with the minimum
amount of information when making entries on the switch list.
- Car initials and number
- Load or empty
- Type of car
- Track taken from
- Track left at
- Times, where required.
Industrial Track Locations
- Sawmill
12 - Timber Dock
13 - Rough Lumber Spot
14 - Finished Lumber Platform
- Camp 1
91- Company Supply or hold spots.
94 - Ash Hopper/Gon spot.
