11.9.3 Colored Pencils

Modeling Information

Colored pencils are wax-based, rather than the usual graphite-based, pencils. This makes them very creamy and easier to blend and burnish. They blend well. The downsides to these pencils is that the fragile 'lead' can shatter in the pencil and break whenever you use  it.

There are numerous brands of colored pencils. Railroad modeler appear to prefer the Prismatic and AK brands.
