11.2.3 Electrical Tools and Supplies

Modeling Information

Here is a list of tools I used during the electrical phase of the WWSL ver. 3.0. The electrical tools are subdivided into two categories: general and electronic.

Tools General

  • Multi-meter
  • Wire Cutter  -  Large
  • Wire Stripper  -  Large
  • Needle Nose Pliers
  • Crimpers  -  Large
  • Screw Driver  - Flat Head
  • Screw Driver  - Phillips Head

Electrical Supplies General

  • Terminal blocks 
  • Crimp connectors  - Butt Bullet Spade Fork Ring 
    • Yellow: Used for larger wires (12–10 AWG) 
    • Blue: Used for medium-sized wires (16–14 AWG)
    • Red: Used for smaller wire gauges (22–18 AWG)
  •  Electrical Wire
    • 12–10 AWG 
    • 14 AWG
    • 22–18 AWG 
  • Sandpaper - various grits
  • Wire Brush
Tools Electronic
  • Soldering Iron 15 to 25 watts – for small gauge wire
  • Soldering Iron - 100 to 400 watts – for large gauge wire
  • Soldering Iron -  Resistance
  • Wire stripper - small
  • A small flat head screwdriver
  • Flush cut nippers
  • Needle nose pliers
  • Jeweler’s file

Electrical Supplies Electronic

  • Rosin core flux
  • Solder – a silver bearing type is recommended
