11.2.1 Benchwork Tools

Modeling Information

Here is a list of tools I used during the construction phase of the WWSL ver. 3.0

Power Tools

  • Circular saw or Chop saw - I used a circular saw but for multiple cuts a chop saw is even better.
  • Drill with drill bit set
  • Belt Sander
  • Wet/Dry vacuum cleaner (3 to 5 hp.)
  • Electrical Extension Cords - 25 to 50 feet (Heavy duty with multiple outlets) - My preference is electrical tools. For some reason battery tools and I don't play well together.

Hand Tools

  • Tape Measure
  • Yard Sticks
  • Builder's Squares (large and small)
  • Box knives (Stanley or Craftsman replaceable blade types)
  • Assorted sizes of screw drivers (slotted and Philips)
  • Putty knives (narrow and wide blade)
  • Level
  • Surform scrappers
  • C-Clamps/Pole Clamps  - As many small to large clamps as possible (you can never have enough)
  • Apron with pockets - I wasted more time looking for pencils, screws, knives, etc than necessary.

Materials

  • Pencils - lots of pencils. I'd put one down and not find it when i needed it.
  • Assorted sizes of screw drivers (slotted and Philips)
  • Caulking gun
  • Tube adhesive
  • Wood Glue
  • Rags

Tool Rental

Laser Level (Tripod mounted if possible)
